Post subject:  Horrible Experience with Hill Marine

June 28th I called Hill Marine and placed an order for three 8x4 propellers. I had previously ordered a total of 4 propellers from them, so now my total number of props ordered is 7. That's over $1,000 I've spent with Hill Marine in just propellers. Anyways I ordered those 3 and I was sent a tracking number. The package arrived one week after I placed the order. When I opened the box, there was only one propeller inside. I immediately called to complain and they almost didn't believe me when I told them the mistake they made. Anyways they said they were backed up on production but they'd get them out to me ASAP. I called this past Monday and was told they still didn't have any of the 8x4 props made but they should be ready to ship out by the end of the week. I was pissed but said ok. I called today and was told they STILL don't have any of the 8x4 props ready but they SHOULD be ready to go out by the middle of next week. I let them know how pissed I was and demanded a refund for the 2 remaining propellers. They said the funds should appear on my card in a week or so. This is the worst example of customer service I've ever experienced. They'll never get a penny of my money again. I build longtails for people and I've got 2 guys waiting on their motors because they don't have a prop. So they're pissed at me because Hill Marine is doing a shitty job. Whew. That's my rant for the day. I'm calling Back-H2O in the morning and I know those guys will take care of me. They've shown me excellent Customer Service since I bought my SWOMP 23.

Each motor may only need one prop, but I've got two completely built longtails that each need a prop. Those props were ordered 3 weeks ago and after all that time, they still haven't even been manufactured yet. You just refuse to see my point. That's fine. No sweat off my nutsack.

i don't see your point because you are making a deal out of nothing. Honest mistake they sent you one prop. So now they have to manufacture more for YOU. Has it occurred to you that they have other business? They are giving you a refund and that means you loose business. Guess who else looses business from this? Hill Marine. That means they have acknowledged that they have fucked up and are trying to make it right.

I have a feeling you wouldn't be so calm if it was your money that was tied up for 3 weeks. I've got 2 longtails that need to be picked up and paid for but that has been significantly delayed bcecause of Hill Marine. And honestly if they had told me after they fucked up the order the first time, "Hey it may take 2-3 weeks before we can get you these other 2 props", I could've told my two customers, and they probably would've been fine with it. But instead Hill has told me 2 different times of when to expect the props so I then relay that info to my customers. However when Hill fails to come through on their promises, I end up looking like a liar to my 2 customers who are waiting on their motors. So today I call and I find out the props won't ship out for at least another 6 days so I then demanded a refund. It wasn't like they called me out of the blue and said how sorry they were for causing all of this inconvenience and then offered me a refund. If you can't understand the point I've made, then it's because you simply refuse to see the point.

If I were running a business and had customers waiting because shit happens, as soon as I found out the mishap (whether it was 3 days or 3 weeks) I would have ordered the two remaining props from someone else to keep my customers happy and dealt with the supplier behind the scenes. That's what makes good customer service, it looks to me like the customer service you provided to your customers was/is just as bad, you just blame it on someone else. Who's to say your supplier is not in the same boat, but they took the blow themselves and didn't blame someone else.

^^^ exactly!!!

Sometimes stuff happens & supplies run out of product. Most occasions, it's a fast process to restock, sometimes it's not. I would personally rather wait a lil longer for the quality standard than do a rush job & end up with inferior product.

FTR, I'm not defending Hill, or trying to argue, I'm just giving it to you from another angle.

Not sure the thread should be deleted.

Why can't you just refund his money through Paypal?

7 days for a refund is a joke. Takes one day to write the check and 3 days to go cross country. If this guy buys alot of props from you, spend the extra $5 , and send it 2 days priority mail.

It takes about a week to do a credit card return, which is how most companies return your money if you pay by credit card.
