Ok gents doing a build.. first one and I have been looking for information on " prop float" if you read the go devil maintenance novel it says the prop should have some slight movement... what have you done and what have you found to work best... we all know what it says in the book but then we try it and find the truth |

I've never tried a home build but I own a gdlt and I honestly think the floating prop is a bad idea, especially if you run in rough terrain like rocks or oysters. I've had my prop seize up on the shaft to where it wouldn't come off just from hitting a few oyster shells. It was only a few months old and after every use I would take the prop off and never-seize the threads. It was stuck so bad last time I brought it to go devil and by the time they got the prop off there were no threads on the shaft. |
