Belt broke yesterday while in hunting. Sucked had to row out. Took me 6 hours. Anyways. What causes a belt to break ?

I may have had a lot of tension on it but not 100% sure how much tension/flex its supposed to have.

Any ideas ?
Thank you.

Epic paddling adventure. No one came along to help?

I was in a remote back area. Did the ole 3 shots rescue to try and get someone’s attention but no luck. Only option was self rescue.

I kayaked the majority of my life so the paddling was ok for me. The polling in the grass/vegetation was the killer. Spent 4 hours polling since I lost my original trail.

Also need glasses to read the GPS and they kept fogging. Hard to find a bearing with a gps when moving slow. I’m going to add a compass.

Dixie. But i modified the cover to insert the blind post on the outside face. Did this so the blind would cover the motor and the boat.

Shooting off the starboard side recoiled off the blind. Must have fallen between the muffler and carb box. My belt cover has a small open area in front/top.

I tend to angle my motor at the blind to give me more room inside the boat. It must have vibrated in time towards the opening.

I since covered the opening 100%.
