 What length shaft?
I will be buying a new motor soon. I am still undecided on brand but leaning towards a gtr. I have a 1854. I rarely run mud. Mostly hard sand bottom ( the wax) and hard bottom stumps. I also run a lake on a regular basis that is loaded with hydrilla, but that doesn't slow my mb down. Question is' is it worth getting a 32 inch shaft with this size boat even I don't need it for mud? Or will I be ok with the standard shaft?

 Re: What length shaft?
I have the standard GTR shaft. Works fine. No need for the extra. if no need for the mud, PD may be your better purchase. Sand is a bitch for all the motors.
Did yall go camp out for a week on the wax like yall did last year?

 Re: What length shaft?
its listed on their website...... i like the longer shaft, i think it allows you to run a better angle when in shallower water especially for a hard bottom. and to trim deeper when in the mud.....
