Why are there only 2 blade props available for longtails? Is this because they do not ride on the surface? Sorry if this is a repeat/dumb question.

In the "early days" GD had a 3 blade LT prop - but with the smaller diameter 9" and the modern 2 blade design - the modern 2 blade is a better prop with the smaller diameter prop....
Things change when the diameter gets up to 11" to 12" range though....

I can tell you why they dont put surface drive props, cause when it pops on top the water it will throw you out the boat if you not ready, tried it the torqe to the side the wheel turns is inbareable
