A 20 hp longtail? I know that 9x5 I standard but its pushing a lightweight 1436 with benches removed. Would going from a 9x5 to 9x6 make a difference. About to get a new prop and wanting to get the most i can. Thanks |

can you? Yes. Will you? entirely up to you. The 9x5 is pretty hard to beat on a 20hp - but I see what your trying to do - get more bite... You might lose a bit up top RPM but you might chew better in the slop. If you do go with it - let everyone know what RPMs your turning. I'd stick with the 9x5 - the 9x6 is a 23hp if i'm not mistaken.... |

Any final thoughts on this? I'm about to order one. Typical load is 2 guys in a 1436. |

Right now I'm running 3600ish in water with a slightly worn 8.75x5, if I could Get a 9x6 to turn around or just under 3200 I would be happy. Will the added pitch help carry weight? |
