Jist ordered thos duromax 16hp. Should I put a 8x4 prop or 9x5?? |

8x4 from Back water. Good price and guaranteed to be balance tested. I ran the same prop on all of my 16hp home builds and had a lot of success with them. |

Yea that's where I'm getting it from just wasn't sure if I should use the bigger or smaller prop |

I ran an 8x4 on the same engine, put a carb, air filter an exhaust on it and thought it had the ability to turn more |

Would u think it would turn the 9x5 stock? If I do mod it itvwill be a while before I can afford it. |

I am trying the 8x5 option from Hill Marine. I have the same engine and a GD longtail frame . Reason I am going with 8x5 is that I am using a 13.5 ft lightweight boat and light loads. |

What is the shaft height on that motor .. I have a 12 hp. Copperhead and wonder if I can switch em out ... |

5 1/4" I believe. |

I think its the 54" shaft. Mine is a 5 hp that I converted but had to do a lot of mods to make it fit but a this 16 should bolt right up to that 12.5. Measure ur shaft height and that will tell u. |
