I run mostly in heavy grass, lilies, vegetation, etc... and have cut enough crap from the shaft to build a tiki hut so I gots me some goodies from ole bayouboy ![]() I'm a little ahead by posting before trying it out but it's got to work better ![]() Before (old picture, did not remove to change skeg and mod plate, simply for comparison) Finished up with a little rattle can. |

Looks good and bayouboy definitely does good work! I like your idea with the kicker on your cavitation plate extended above the shaft. Jesse 27 PD FPR 16x36 skiff - aka - DITCH WITCH |

What happens when the prop tightens down on the bushing some more? The prop looks awful close to the weed cutter. |

Of course you have to have enough clearance, but if your grass blocker doesn't work well enough, you could add a tit like pictured... ImageUploadedByTapatalk1369064336.975923.jpg Jesse 27 PD FPR 16x36 skiff - aka - DITCH WITCH |

You'll like it. I find that logs and other skeg hits are less violent with it. If you hold your stock skeg up to BB's it's about 1 1/2" shorter (height wise), which makes for less contact area when running WOT. I actually picked up 18mph just by adding it... Gonna put some gator glide on it soon to get an extra 3mph. |

I don't know if I want it going any faster! I have to slow down now at night to let the light get back in front to see where I'm going! |

On installation, I recommend that you set it 1/16 or 3/32 from the prop. On a new prop install put the cutter all the way forward for a few runs before resetting it to the distance posted above. Also check it from time to time especially after a hard prop strike. Hole is slotted and The edges are beveled, Been running them for years now and found if the prop does touch it just pushes it forward and the beveled edges at as a wear plate. ( worn in a few seconds ). Flatboat is probably coming close to having the most hour on one. And after a few minutes of sharping with a small dremel its like new again. View of slot |

Gotcha. Was just noticing that he had quite a bit of bushing still sticking out the prop, and remembered my bushing always ended up flush with the prop or slightly inside it. |
