Post Longtail Props
Guys,

I believe I have a stock 9x6 prop that came with the 35 horse Beavertail motor. I'm maxing at 17 mph in my 1856 by myself with the floor removed and about a gallon of gas and the prop is in good shape. I haven't checked RPMs yet but they sound about right.

Go Devil uses a 10x6 and Back H2O uses a 9x8 prop. Anyone have any input on why one prop would be better for top speed vs load carrying? Also, are all these props universal with regard to putting them on my Beavertail driveshaft?

Many thanks!

as long as the shaft is 3/4" with #10 threads you can interchange the brand. I run a backh2o prop on my GD. Sorry can't help with the load carrying. If you call backh2o they will help you out, you need a GD serial # to order GD props.

I'd go up to at 9x8 if the motors stock, more than that if you're modded. I run a 9x6 on my 20hp Honda.

I have a 20hp gdlt but it's the crawfish version with the shorter shaft on a 20 foot boat with a 38in bottom! I am planning on replacing the prop and I'm wanting a little more speed out of it I have gps'd it right now at anywhere from 16 to 19. Godevil recommends a 9x4 but would a 9x5 help out that much?
