Thought I saw on here that PD is going to a new setup that will allow 2 cylinders to work with 1 pump. Anyone got any info on this? Also CCC, did your valve work? |

Yes, they are going with one pump, one motor and a hydraulic selector valve on top. One switch for trim, one for reverse, the valve determines where the fluid goes. |

Ok, I have bben looking at this for a while and I see no reason why it won't work. Trim Wiring.JPG The 12V selector valve specs SPECIFICATIONS Flow 15 GPM Pressure 3000 PSI Voltage 12 volt DC Amperage 1.67 amps Ports SAE 8 Terminal Connection 1/4" spade Size 4-1/2" x 2-1/2" x 6-1/2" Shpg. 7 lbs. Basically one switch (on-off-on) would be used as a selector switch to switch between Trim and Reverse cylinders. Thats all it does. Flip the Selector Switch to trim and roll on. When you want Reverse, flip switch to Reverse and roll on. The Selector valve is controlled by small solenoids itself and when energized, they open the ports. The single pump would be run through the reversing solenoid to protect switches. The cost is about $150 but it beats the hell out of replacing a $700-$1000 trim pump. |

Try it, looks right to me. Only thing I would make the Trim/Reverse selector switch an on/off/on so you don't have to hold it down. (not sure what that's called but you know what I'm saying) |

One switch is an on-on switch. This switch is for the trim/reverse. The two sole kids on the valve need to be energized to open the ports. So the switch will stay in the trim position. Which is on. The trim will work as normal. If you want to use the reverse, simply flip the rocker down, to energize the other solenoid (reverse cylinder side) and use the same trim switch to operate that cylinder. Basically, you would use the same trim switch, but to use reverse, you would just flip an additional switch to do it. Takes no time. The reverse solenoid will remain energized until you flip it back to the other cylinder for normal driving and trim use. Each solenoid pulls 2 amps. So even if its stays continuous, the switch is still safe. |
