One of the lines for my hydraulic trim blew a leek today and had to ride back to the boat lauch with motor trimmed all the way down. Every time I fix something I learn so here it goes: What kind of hyraulic fluid? Farm and Fleet? The line I am talking about is the corrigated metal line, there are two of them, going from the trim motor to the trim cylinder. Is it special line, where can I pick them up at? Last question, and I am no mechanic, but what are the steps to put the hydro in it? I can't even find a fill spot on the trim motor. Thanks for any help, it is much appreciated. |

On the trim motor just above the oil resivoir you will find a dipstick with a flat head screwdrive slot in it. Trim the motor up then fill it there using a oil squirt can, is what i use. The fluid is dextron III transmission fluid. And the hydralic hoses you can get from your local prodrive service center or at any Napa auto part store, or any hydralic hose speciality store. 1/4" stainless braided hoses aren't cheap i'ma warn you. |

Thanks LA. I saw the screw slot. How much hydro does it need? I will have to put something under the prop because the only way I can trim it up is to lift the motor...my back is shot.  If I replace one line I don't know if I should replace the other. Is one line an intake and the other out? Do I need to blow the lines? Not even sure how to anyway. Thanks again. Trying to more scouting this weekend. |

If you buy one quart you will not use it all. just squirt some in and screw the dipstick in then pull it back out and check it. Add oil if needed. |

Replace both hoses.You DO NOT Need to use wire braided hoses.Go to your local NAPA or Someone who makes hoses and tell them you need 5000psi or more hoses made to the same length and same fittings.Cost me $26 for two rubber hydraulic lines. |
