 thompson to lectro tab?
I couldnt find any model numbers but saw some people switched the thompson to th electro tab. I have the thompson Imon the third one in two years. Lectrotab sells one close to the same dimensions. But the lectro tab has the motor built into the cylinder versus the thompson one has the motor next to the cylinder. Anyone done the switch? and does it work the same. It sounded like my trim up hieght will be more but trim done will be 1/2" less. Anyone have any insight? Its alot cheaper to go lectrotab?
Thanks,

 Re: thompson to lectro tab?
I replaced mine last summer with a lectrotab. I noticed when I put it on the mounting part on the trim unit was plastic or polymer. Was a little worried when I first bolted it up. Worked so much better, quiet, smooth, even faster. Used the boat two or three times bowfishing after the new unit was put on, no problems. First trip down a twisted beaver run I tore the Damn lectrotab off. NO WAY WOULD I EVER PUT ANOTHER ONE BACK ON. I ordered a new Thompson and just filled it with trailer bearing grease. Do that twice a year and have been good since.
