http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3f1yGz5KRqk At 37 sec Fred Zink shows a "grass cutter" on his Go-Devil. Anyone try something like this for a GTR35?? I ran in wild rice and that stuff just wraps in the gap between the prop and the rear seal. Reversing doesn't help. |

grass cutter? I still seen grass wrapped around the bushing right in front of the prop. That's the stuff that can burn up seals and bushings. |

Bayouboy makes a nice one for the PD, works very well. I'm sure someone could come up wif one for a GT. |

Boatdr had one for the MB's. Don't know if it would work on a GT or not. |

Mn. Keep me posted on this as well. Most of what I hunt is in the rice so I'd like to get ahead of the problem if possible. Like I said, should be here in two weeks. |

It almost looks like the cutter on Fred Zink's motor would fit on the brace above the shaft on the GTR. Thoughts? |

SS, don't think aluminum would last long. as far as cost, you'll need to ask bayouboy, its his baby...sorry but I wont post what I paid incase he has changed price or something... |

im with Will on this one. I recently got bayou boys custom skeg, cavi plate, and weed cutter it is well worth it. It makes a big diffrence in the thick vegies. You just have to send bayou boy your cavi plate so he can make the mod. It is all well worth it |

Cut mine with a hole saw and a sawzall, then hit it with a flap disk. Took 10 minutes tops. |

Post subject: | Re: GTR35 Grass Cutter |
There's already a tab on the GT skeg that ends up very close to the prop...and if you look at the hub of the prop on the inward facing side of the prop, it's not round, the hub goes out to start the blades...and that area of the prop is the same diameter as the little tab on the skeg... Anyways, I bet if you could get just the cutter from BB or get something similar machined and bolt it onto that tab it would work really well cutting weeds from around the shaft. As long as the tab is straight it serves the same purpose, I've noticed that mine bends sometimes and I have more issues with wrapping grass but once I straighten it out its fine...but if you want improved weedless ability, a cutter on that tab would probly work well. |

Doesn't look like it, must be just the newer style skeg with the cut out torque tab on it |

Idk, I've never seen one with the rock guard in person. I know the older skegs didn't have the torque tab, maybe it was a new addition once they started cutting the torque tab in? I see the top of your skeg is bent some, the further it is away from the prop the more grass issues you will have. |

The 27" drive and 32" drive skeg's are built different for torque tab On 32" skeg torque tab is solid on 27" it has where u can bend the skeg in the middle And they don't make a rock skeg for a 32" drive |
