What is the size and thread? 3/8 - 14 x 3/8??? help me out here guys otherwise i have to start PM'ing everyone on here with a PD STARTING WITH YOU CLAY!!!! or Uncle J...... =) Thanks in advance guys |

I don't know what it is and I'm not going to go change my gear oil to find out for you. ![]() Call PD in the morning. A lot of times someone is there till noon or so on Saturdays. If not, give a call monday morning. What did you do? |

On the water? Is it stripped out, or you just didn't get it back in tight? Is the top one not the same size? Take it to a hardware store and match it up. |

add to that ^^ must have happened on the last trip i took jumping beaver dams scouting the birds. went to look at it today and i had oil over the floor - no screw for the gear oil..... and i cant find anything anywhere in my city - not Lowes, Home Depot, Rona....nadda.... |

Not sure on that one but some of those on the lower unit are NPT not reg sae or metric. Have to find a good plumbing supply type store. Napa carries some of that... |

1/4" pipe thread, NPT (national pipe thread). Try to find it in stainless is possible, you'll thank me later. |

Its an oil bath system so you'd have a better chance at cross threading than seizing, since the treads will more than likely be lubricated from the start. A lot of folks also think that you shouldn't use stainless with aluminum ( 2 non ferrous metals ) Which is also true to an extent, but we are talking about the LU. So when people question my stainless plugs in cast aluminum. I usually reply with, Well what did the manufacturer make the prop seal nut out of? They usually reply with ummm. lol |

All I can go by is my 2007 PD and my Top level plug is indeed 1/4" NPT. Bottom plug on mine is 1/8" NPT. |

So it was a 1/8 NPT x 3/8" pipe plug. Had to do a kcco shout out to Brafasco - guy gave me 2 plugs for free =) Mighty nice of him KCCO |

What year is your motor? I have an 07 (which was purchased in Nov of 06). You have my intrested peaked lol, I've never seem one with a 1/8 npt plug, I went walking around the yard looking at all the PD's ( 9 ) I have here in the yard lol and there all 1/4. |
