Post Problems with short tail mm
I figured if I could find any help on this problem it would be here. I have a predator 212 which is a 6.5 HP, the motor has been gutted and built with a stage 3 kit from nr racing. It should be pushing around 12-13 HP. When I ordered the frame from dixie he put a 9x9 hill marine prop on it. It's mounted on a 13 foot riverhawk original, which is like a fiberglass canoe, I took it out yesterday for the first time and ran into some issues. You can hold the prop at the surface of the water and the rpms will rev to 4-5000 rpms but the boat is not really moving and I'm getting a lot of spray and the motor never bogs down. Once you drop the trim/ prop below the water the motor slugs down to 16-1700 rpms and still is moving slow. The rpms will never get above 1700. I know something isn't right. There is a guy on youtube with the same setup only he is running a 9x6 and his is mounted to a lowe 1436. could that lil difference in prop size kill it that bad? Any help here would be awesome. Thanks

I wouldn't think it would be the prop. Friend of mine just put a 5.5 on a Dixie frame with 9x9 prop and he gets 16 mph, granted his boat is only 10ft and weighs 125lbs
