My tension knob for the lower unit is stripped and just spins, affecting FPR ability. It is the old style handle.

Has anyone had this happen?

How to you get the old handle off? Pull and turn does not seem to work.

I will call KP on Monday to send out a new handle.

Is the black knob stripped out or the threads in the aluminum mid section?

The black knob should have stripped out before the mid section threads! you would think anyways?

Any which way, just get a pair of vise grips lock them onto the threaded part/bolt of the knob and turn it counter clock wise and pull out at the same time. it should back on out. If the threads are stripped then a Heli coil would probably be the easiest fix.

Yeah, the plastic turn knob is stripped, not the actual threaded part into the LU.

See if you can find a T-handle replacement at Lowes or HD.
