Post subject: | New Prop Looks Strange |
I just ordered an new prop fro my 35GTR. I took it out of the box and it looks like its rebuilt or something but has zero cupping. I'm not saying anything is wrong with it because I've been working of rebuilt props for a couple of years now and they look much more cupped and polished when they come back. I'm not bitching unless it doesn't work when I put it on. I think that this is my 10+ new prop, but since I haven't got one for a while maybe they changed styles? Its the 12" 10P prop from Gatortail. Any ideas? Normal? |

Hoyt told me they are just "unfinished" meaning not shined up. He said "PD, GD, MB get away with it why can't we" |

I figured by not polishing would save them some money for sure |

I was told it's a coating , they started doing them again without the coating ... Polished stainless should be shiny as hell |

Its a prop strait out the mold. only shinny parts you may see is on back of blade where it was balanced. same props they been using just no sanded finish. |

That "coating" is probably what is left of the mold release after demolding and washing. |
