Post subject:  Prop/gear ratio question

I have an 18hp dixie running a 1.11:1 ratio, 36tooth:40tooth and an 11x10 prop. I had it on a light, riveted 1444 and it was running mid to high 20's, but i didn't have a tach and don't know how many RPM's I was running. I wore nearly 1/2" off the prop and switched to a lot heavier 1450, and now It's time for a new prop. My question is: Would I benefit more from a 10x8 or should I stick with the 11x10?

HAHA! I was told my DMM was built with Carlisle Panther sprockets and belt, I took the tail section off and found that it really had "dodge" sprockets, and an $11 belt.

On a side note, hows your dixie holding up? You happy with the buy?
