my mudbuddy is making a bad racket in the bottom shaft area. the prop is seriously wore, and some friends and i think that may be causing an unbalance. wich is causing the noise. no play in the prop at all. |

What does the prop measure out at and you are probably right..... but look for a crack in the shaft housing about 10" from prop. sent from the former Republic of Texas. |

If the prop is causing a vibration u need to get another one bro and get it off that motor. |

check your bearings, a worn out bearing will let the shaft rattle around. |

If the prop is that bad then it probably trashed the bearings. You'll need to replace them fast before it does more damage. |

I would have to think that excessive prop wear would do nothing other than increase rpm's, less resistance. If you run sandy hard bottoms, it sould wear even. So if it is indeed work, you should see nothing. If you hit something and 1 blade is worn more than the other, you should see excessive vibration due to the prop not being balanced anymore. The clanking sound has nothing to o with prop wear and is bearing related. Now, if you have excessive vibration in the handle, then check the prop. |
