I have an 08 35gtr. When i put it in gear in the water its making a squeaking noise loud and gets worse the more throttle i give. When it is out of the water on the trailer and i put it in gear it makes no noise whatsoever. So my question is what is causing this? Any ideas or if anyone has a clue it would help tremendously. Im scared to run it anymore.

Check brake pads. Could be pad rubbing on rotar.

Hmm ok i will check that. You dont think it would squeak out of the water too though?

The added vibration created by the prop being in water could cause it. IDK take the clutch cover off and check it.

Will try that. Should i take the caliper off and run it in the water to know if thats the problem?

Its not suppose to be touching at all? Cause if its like any other brake system ive messed with the pads are still pretty much touching even when u let off the brake.

You're gonna have to take the cowling off to get to them. Can you take the spark plugs out and see what they look like, if you have a black one and then one that's creamy color, that side is leaking indicating a lean mixture with the intake sucking in air. Sometimes the intake will leak and the gasket will act like a reed as whistle, getting worse the morse gas you give it while the boat is under a load. I'm not saying that's your issue but it's something to check.

Ok thanks. I will check plugs. But it doesnt sound like an air whistle its more metallic like a bearing or something. Im not familiar with where any bearings are or any of the drive components really.

Maybe some others will chime in, I had one throw me for a loop, sounded just like a squeaking belt and got louder, thought the fan was rubbing the shroud and turned out to be an intake leak where the intake meets the head.

Good luck
