How can you tell if you've worn out the cup of a prop? Is there a way to measure this or is it just best guess visual inspection? |

The edge of my prop gets so sharp you could shave with it. Get a tape and measure across widest part. Then compare it against what a new prop should be |

Yeah. I measured the length of the blades. They were 5 1/2 inches. Then called manufacturer and they told me 5 1/2 is normal new prop length. The reason I'm asking is I've lost about 4 mph on speed. After the lady said the 5 1/2 inch length she asked me if I'd worn the cup of the prop down but I'm not sure how to determine if its messed up. |

I have not seen rpm increase. It's still between 3820 to 3890 rpm. It's on a godevil (don't laugh) and the trim knob has not been moved. Here's some pics [img]http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/01/20/8e7usymu.jpg[/IMG |

Yeah. Don't think the wife would like fat girls wearing out her seat in the boat. |

Good deal. Just didn't really know what to look for. Wanted to be sure it looked good since I just signed up for the SETX mud run. I may go ahead and order a new one so I have a spare. |

Well, see ya there. I'd run the old one. Have you tried shifting some weight around? |

I think I got it balanced pretty good. Tank up front. Battery in rear. I ride as close to center of boat as I can and still drive. No other weight in boat except safety gear. If I have any other gear in boat it rides towards front. It may be from unseen weight. Mud/ sand in boat under the sides that I can't see. It's been a while since I power washed it out. This prop I have now has been going for 2 seasons now so I think its done good do far. |

Ca, c'est bon! I figure on one a year atleast. Now I'm in it 1-3 times a week and run in sandy hard bottom skinny water beaucoup. My godevil longtail runs a 9x3 and when I replaced it it measured 7¾". Just a Tad bit of wear. |

Yeah. I run hard sandy bottom too. I just don't dig it in. I let it float and slowly ease out to deeper water. I'll see ya in south Texas soon. |
