Going to use it as a kicker for bowfishing Trying too save weight an wonderd if I could gear it an get that low end power ....I like the snap of the two stroke an the quick off throttle response

Man I've owned every kind of bowfishing boat there is ....troller..kicker..fan ..16×8 diamondback airboat ..I've had the sickness for almost thirty years ...I was thinking that the rotax with a fancy gear box would be a hot little mother ....but you guys know I've never owned or riden in one for that matter....has it been tried on here any videos etc

I don't understand exactly what you want to do with it......... put it on a surface drive?

Yeah that's right an use it beside my outboard ...an steer it with an airboat cable

why? if you need a mud motor, just go all the way and get rid of the outboard. what are you trying to do that hasnt been doable with a "troller..kicker..fan ..16×8 diamondback airboat"? Using a surface drive for a kicker sounds like a big pain in the ass. Any pics of the boat/setup you want to use it on?
(I'm not being a dick here.... just trying to figure out what your needs are)

Why a big outboard and a little? My uncle had a kicker motor on his offshore boat..... He said it was incase the big motors don't fire up we can still limp home.

People use them to troll. It's a lot more fuel efficient and saves a ton of wear and tear on the big motor.

Im gona use a 23 hp surface drive insted of the small outboard ...but im gona have to shorten the shaft so I can turn it dead 90°both ways ...but I was wondering about if a two stroke would be better ...I don't know what the rpm range is on a 4 stroke .....does anyone
