Post subject:  The right prop for my motor

I am new to the mud motor world and love it so far. I recently bought a 24 hp beavertail longtail. Put on my 14/36. The prop is def worn out. Beavertail web site says I need a 9x7. Everywhere else I check calls for a 9x6. Which route should I go? Any help with this would be much appreciated.

That's what I'm prob gonna go with. It's on a 14/36. The prop that is on there is worn out. It only measures 7 1/4

I will probably go with the 9x6. The prop that is on there is worn out. It only measures 7 1/4 across. It probably has never been changed. Guy I got it from did nothing to it and knew nothing about it. Just used it for duck season

I will prob go with the 9x6. The one that is on there is worn out. it only measures 7 1/4 across. The guy who owned it before me didnt know anything about it and did nothing but grease and run it for duck season. I had to call beavertail to find out the year model.

It will get you farther per prop rotation. Basically if you can turn it the same RPM, you'll be faster. If you're prop is worn as badly as you say it is, get a new one of stock size so you have a base line before you try changing the prop up.

Thanks man. Prob gonna try the 9x7 first. I have to replace the shaft to. Lost the key way and it spun in the yoke and gnarled the end pretty good.

Yea the mud buddy is the best bet for lasting and a good mud prop

the hill will be around 20_30 cheaper on the 9x7 and 40_50 cheaper on the 9x6 not sure y they have such a price difference but they do. And they noe the hottest for a lasting prop but they are good.

Right on. It's 3/4-10 threads. I probably want whatever would last the longest. How long does one generally last under normal use?
