Ive heard all these horror stories about trying to get a prop off of a long tail is a realllll pain.. Whats the easiest way to remove a prop? any info will be appreciated. |

Bind the shaft and un screw the prop. Come on man you work with tools every day. ![]() |

You could make yourself a prop tool with a nut, piece of pipe, and two pieces of flatbar. Weld a nut onto a piece of pipe that will fit over the shaft. Weld the flatbar to the pipe, one on each side facing counter-clockwise when looking at the nut. When you slide the pipe over the shaft and rotate it CC the flatbars should fit against the backside of the blades. Stick a rod through the u-joint to stop the shaft from turning. Make sure the rod is not on the same side of the cross as the zerk is. Put a socket and impact on it and it will come right off. |

I fought mine the first time I took it off. Called Bart baker and he told me when you put it back on tighten the prop all the way tight then back it off about a 1/4 turn then put the rest of the nuts and washers on tight. First time I pulled the prop it took me about 3 hours took it off yesterday and it took me about ten minutes. |

I have access to justt about anything i need to make that prop wrench, ill dig around and work tomorrow and see what i can come up with. Thanks for all the info guys! |
