Post Engine Push
My engine pushes into me when up on plane, it is a bear to drive. What are some tips and tweaks to balance out that prop torque when running open water? If it is just me in the boat it rolls (as if driving through waves) in calm water, is that normal? I read a triple blade prop helps, is that true?

I run a 1648 weldbilt, 23 hp MBSD with Mikuni carb and after market exhaust. I have the stock prop on still.

I couldn't quite find the right key words in search, so if you know of some good threads that already explored this, please point me to the .

3 blade is a lot worse on my gtr as far as tiller torque versus my 2 blade

Is it square on the transom?

Couple of things. You can offset your motor on the transom by 1/4"-3/8" to the port side. The other is to adjust the bent portion of your skeg under the prop. If its pushing into you, you may need a little more angle. Take a 2' or 3' piece of 4x4 pine and cut a kerf in the end of it the thickness of the skeg and use it as a wrench to put a little more bend in it.

Try trimming down a bit or get out the GPS and find the sweet spot, then if you still have tiller torque adjust your skeg.
