New I could bury it and turn 3980
I run my motor at 4050 or less I try not to run higher than that

Mine has about thirty his on it wear is low. However I used to run 4450 now I'm at 4500 to 4540. It's picking up speed, I've noticed it takes allot to wear it down

I have a 1-1/2 duck season on mine, and i guess 100 hours or so.

I have lost about 1/4" to 1/2" and it still runs good.

Brand new my motor would only turn it about 4200, now i can turn it up to 4500 in deep water.

I did go back to a stock prop recently for about 10 minutes, but it was so unbalanced i couldnt stand it.

My next prop will be another Hammer.

It really depends on the bottom of where you run. My customers that run in hard packed sand bottom go thru about a prop a year. In area where the mud is bottomless, they get many years of use out of their prop.

I've got about 700 hours on my current hammer and have only lost about 1/4" of it, but if you jumped out of the boat in the mud where I hunt you'd sink to your armpits.

i havent used my hammer alot. it seemed to me i got more rpms and speed out of the big blade. when i had the hammer on i didnt hit 4500, more like high 4300s. is this others experience mostly?

when i bought the hammer i really was thinking of the hole shot and load carrying potential for duck season. my motor would run 4700 with the big blade if i was willing to turn her that hard. i try to keep it under 4500 and plan to use the hammer when im hauling 1200 pounds of decoys, shotguns and ass

I put about 30hrs on a hammer in everything from rocky rivers, sandy lakes, tidal mud, etc and might have lost an 1/8". Guy who bought my rig still has it and last I heard from him, he's got over 100hrs and is down to 12.25 but said that was his fault because he buried it in a real sandy mud a couple of times but that it still pulls really good.

different gear should allow you to achieve more rpms. i have a same motor and can't see any other reason why you aren't turning around the same as mine.

boat dr should be able to explain it a hell of a lot better than me

i'll have to slap it back on and try this again....maybe my valve lash needs adjusting but i doubt it. i just recently upgraded my motor from 45 mag

anyone ever put a hammer prop on a 23. I am about to do a stage 1 upgrade and depending on what rpms im turning I would consider a hammer. I am turning 3800-4000 rpms right now at top speed depending on load and water depth/wave conditions.

my buddy has one right now I could see about buying his and he could get a new one after this duck season and has a little wear on it. He only has about 10 hrs on it now. I would only consider it if I can hit the 4350 rev limiter after the upgrade otherwise i will stick to the big blade im running now.
