Re: Gtr 3 blade
Yes it's a 10.pitch. I turned it about 4100-4200 stock. Now I turn it 4400-4500 with a Mikuni and exhaust.
Btw 18x48 boat.

They're a lot better than the 11 pitch was as far as drivability but the a touch slower

Re: Gtr 3 blade
I don't see a need for a 2 blade after what I put my 3 blade through last night Frogging. 4-6" of water with matted hydrilla.
18x48 gtr with Mikuni and evt exhaust. I can turn it 4500 rpms.

Re: Gtr 3 blade
So what's the general consensus on a 2 vs 3 blade. I need a new prop ASAP and I'm running a stock motor

Re: Gtr 3 blade
I was turning it 4200rpm stock. On an 18x48 with a 3/16 bottom unc j hull with a light load. Buy the 3 and if you don't like it I'll buy it with for a small discount.
Do you have the old or new gearing(45t or 48t)

3 blade is also much thicker. It may last longer.

Re: Gtr 3 blade
The 3 blade on my stock motor seems to run just fine. No real tiller torque at all.

Re: Gtr 3 blade
Where do you order the 3 blade from? I just looked on GT website and only a 2 blade show in their props section?

Re: Gtr 3 blade
My engine is a 2012 with the old style foot, my boat is in the signature. Which pitch you guys recommend? Right now I turn the 2 blade up to 4300 but it gives best speed trimmed down a bit at 4150 or so. My boat is pretty dang heavy, by myself it will run 29-30 gps'd, 25-27 with 3 in it. Hole shot sucks and a LOT of torque.

They only offer the 10p now I believe. Your boat should turn it.

Re: Gtr 3 blade
The 10 pitch is not faster even ,though u get more rpm its still slower than the 11 but its a lot easier to drive.

LA, Just assuming you do prop work. Can you mod this 3 blade (pirch, cup, rake) if I need some tweeking on it? If not, do you know who does?

Re: Gtr 3 blade
I have a friend that owns precision propeller here in lake Charles, la. We have been playing with the three blade props lately and have had some really good runs. BTW POWER TECH builds the 3 blade props and they will build that prop from 8-11 pitch.

Re: Gtr 3 blade
Stock motor with 10p 3 blade will plant you out the rear of the boat coming from a dead stop, torque is manageable based on load distribution and trim, keep your rooster tail at or around height of air breather, rpm's at sweet spot 3700-3800, running 1848 with 3/16 bottom, had 1000 pounds in the boat and ran 22

Re: Gtr 3 blade
^^ 37 that's baby shit . Sounds like someone got the bottom end built up now too
Nope just a cam, heads, carb, exhaust motor. Did take the Rev limiting coils off though
I always thought stock rods were good up till 5500rpm! Haha
There not Sent from my iPhone using
When I get to 300 Hrs after hunting season and mud riding season on the same rods, I will let you know. Its already at 90 hrs. Should have popped already right?

Put 10 hrs on a motor with after market rods at 5200 and I bet the result is the same.

Re: Gtr 3 blade
Quit trying to play stupid. You know damn good and well that there are motors with stock rods that burst 5800 to 6k in reverse that have stayed together for years. The block holding one of these motors at 5200 will split before the rods will break.

Re: Gtr 3 blade
You keep pushing these after market rods when the block is the week point! So yes, lets throw some after market longer rods in a motor and bump up the cylinder pressure and hold the motors at higher RPMs and everything will be fine because I have aftermarket connecting rods. Get the f@@k out of here with that shit.
