Post subject:  Differences in props...

We have completed our surface drive and were working out some kinks today, the our gear ratio is 1.45 : 1 being turned by a honda 22hp with a cam in it (we got the engine used with the cam previously installed from an ag company that used the engine on demo vehicles). Anyways today we got all of our issues figured out and were getting good results with the prop we have now (Hill 11x10) but was wondering if this is the actual prop we need because it looks like a standard weed less prop that would go on a longtail? The engine seemed to run better with the prop below the surface vs piercing the surface which had me wondering?

I guess my question is, what is the difference between a weedless prop for a longtail vs. a surface drive?

The 11x 10 hill is a surface prop what r the rpm I think with that gearing u could run a MB bb or a 12x10 hill prop and see better results ..

U could also increase your gearing and get more speed with say a 1.2-1 and keep the same prop

What rpm u turning now
