Running 18x54 Prodigy. Big blade prop. Getting 24 mph with 500lb load about 3950-4050rpm s. Is this good or is there a better prop out there? Boss Drive H4400 . BB 12.25 x 10.

Should be a lil better unless your boat is loaded out and on the heavy side.

That is a heavy boat and that motor is heavy as well. To me that sounds about right.

Shift weight, can you trim up any more, or is 4k your sweet spot
With that setup 25 is normal, but you might be able to squeeze some more or of her

Well tried to posts some pics but didn't work. The boat is awesome ! Love the motor but I am new to surface drives. Love the reverse. As for the RPMs , looks like 4050 -4090 is a good number. I trim up but vibration kicks in a little. The reverse is easy to use and much needed.

The boat is awesome & the motor sounds cool with the gears. I am extremely satisfied at this point.

Is the 4400 just a carb and exhaust motor?
No headwork?

If so, that does sound about right, but if its got headwork, those numbers are low.

I can load up my rig with 4 guys, 70# dogg all the gear and decoys and still run 25-26 depending on how I load it. These mud motor mud hull combos don't like to be loaded bow heavy. All 3 of my boats would run much better being loaded middle back with most of the gear. Not sure what the 4400 has for mods? 500# isn't much of a load when it comes to duck hunting when you figure in a couple corn fed guys, dogg and decoys poundage adds up quick. I see some mods in your future!

I might be talking out my ass but isn't the H geared for the hammer prop. I mean the 35 comes with a hammer too right? Shouldn't a 44 be boiling the water with a big blade and turning a few hundred more rpm's?

I blowed past the game warden running pro drive boat & motor with two guys in the boat. I was loaded down and he was definitely running wide open. I am impressed with the boat and motor, just looking for more without tricking out too much. I borrowed a prop that was a MB 12x10 that supposedly been worked to a 14, got 28 mph running same load 4090-4100rpms. This prop will turn the water up. Motor sounds like a V8 with a Pete Jackson gear drive.

It actually is not annoying. It may get louder but thats not the problem . It's no louder than any other surface drive. Hope it stays that way because it sounds like it is built with precision.
