Its a 12 x 13 with heavy tip curl. The prop does a pretty good job with my stage 1 setup overall and achieved my main goal of getting the rpms down. They are a little lower than I wanted but its not bad. With a decent load its got its best speeds at 3900 rpms. The problem is at low RPM while in gear it raddles the shit out of the engine. Looking at the carb it looks like it is just going to fly off at any minute. Yesterday I lost 2 screws from the motor and this has never happened before.

Two questions???

1. is it the heavy tip curl thats causing the vibration??

2. If it is the tip curl, could I just pull it and bang some of it out or do they need to be heated?

Thanks

Is this prop in balance! :o You want to talk about rattling the engine back to the ramp!

I ordered the Hopkins Cleaver 12x13 to replace the stock in picture, and my RPMs went up and I lost 2 MPH. I sent it back to Glen he is probably going to add some pitch to it. I wasn't impressed though. I put a new stock back on, RPM's stayed the same I gained the 2mph back.

I slung a blade just like that 2 miles from the launch. It was a half day push back to the ramp. I watched the blade cut across the marsh and cut a path through the cat tails 100 yards away   I assume it was a defect in the metal. oh and it was hell getting the prop off without the 2nd blade to grab.

I actually think it was a defective prop. I didn't hit anything. Something could have clipped the side f the prop just perfect, but normally you would feel it in the bow first. I was running WOT through thick veg, and wham! I couldn't believe it when I trimmed the motor up. I was able to actually limp back tot he ramp, but i thought I was going to lose every bolt on the engine!

i've slung a blade off several props, from differant manufactures. they all make a bad one now and again, the differance is what the dealer does to make it right.

i had 4 hopkins do that, tough luck from hopkins.

had 1 pd prop do that, got a new prop from pd.

guess what prop i run now?
