Has anyone had issues with cracking/breaking the cast aluminum foot on newer GTRs on stumps, logs, rocks, etc? |

Several had broken lowers with no so many hours on them. If I was informed correctly GT first sent out a repair part (clamp) for the broken webbing between the shaft housing and reverse plate. I believe some were warrantied all together, since then I've seen they have gone away from the design with holes in the webbing and have gone to a solid piece. Since that change I'm not sure how they have held up but I haven't seen as many failures posted up here. Another common breakage was user error attempting to bend the skeg to get rid of tiller tq. The old ones being machined didn't break, the new cast ones do lol |

The part that was cracking was fixed. Even if it did crack it didn't affect performance or the ability to get in. It was solely the reverse plate that had issues. The problem has since been remedied. I have 150 hrs so for with no issues. I've had both lowers and will take the new over the old any day. |

I have the cast lower and am knocking on 90hrs on mine. It's been flawless. The fins on my reverse plate are still intact as well |
