Checked for play by moving prop side to side and up and down, very little play. According to the Go devil manual you either have to use a special tool or reciprocating saw to cut it out. Once I removed the shaft the bushing just slid right out. No play at all. Question: Does that mean the bushing is worn and needs to be replaced or has anyone else been able to pull the bushing by hand?

I haven't had one come out by hand. I would say replace it since its out. You're probly gona have to ream it when you put in a new one

It's an interference fit. You press in the new bushing then size it to accept the shaft. Either use a bushing reaming tool or a good sharp 7/8" drill bit. The shaft should slide in smoothly and turn by hand with little resistance.

I just slipped the bushing in the housing and it has some play until it is completely seated and then I don't feel any. It definitely looks like the bushing has been spinning in the housing.
