 Cracked Prop
Doing my occasional inspection and repairs and discovered a hairline crack on the prop. Is this something I can send off and get repaired or will it only cause more damage in the future and just need to replace it?

 Re: Cracked Prop
I had a 2 blade with a crack in the blade like that. I took a grinder and followed the crack then tig welded it up. It lasted another year, then threw the blade at 4800 rpm and in 3 seconds the vibration cracked the crank case cover and destroyed the clutch. If I had to do it again I'd throw it away

 Re: Cracked Prop
I'd scrap it. The potential damage that a sling blade can inflict isn't worth what you may save. Out of curiosity, is that a 10 or 11 p prop? Can you post a pic of the other side?

 Re: Cracked Prop
Please post a pic of the Engine side of the prop so I can see how the blades meet the hub
