Is there supposed to be this much play in the shaft right behind prop?

The nut is tight... I can push and pull on the prop, it moves the whole shaft about 3/4 of an inch... Runs fine same speed and RPM's. I would think it would be that something came loose. I do notice a thud when i put it in gear might be shaft traveling.

Went by GT this morning... Found that the washer behind the belt sprocket came off and the nut was pushing its way through...
Those guys dropped everything and got it fixed while I was there...
