i bought a mud buddy hyper drive short tail used with a honda 24 hp,it has a air pump(manual) built into the kill switch box on the handle..this goes to a small shock which i believe acts as your tilt/trim...shock is played out!...can anyone inform me about this set up??..i'm guessing motor is about 2002 to 2005?

They don't work very well to hold motor at trim height when they get some wear on them. They work when motor reaches its best trim height when under way, by pulling the button on control box on tiller. Suppose to hold motor at that angle. When motor was needed to be trim down to get on plane again, button had to be pushed in again to allow weight of motor to go back down, by releasing the air in cylinder. They worked kind of like a lift gate cylinder you see on Vans only with a manual release. A new Thompson style trim kit from MB can be converted to frame, to replace unit. Confused yet?
