 Drive shaft bearing removal?
Anyone know if the cap on the end of the hdr drive tube is reverse threads? Having a hell of a time getting it off. Also, how big of a chore is it to replace the bearings and all once I get the cap off. Any video on YouTube or anything? Thanks

Mb ought to have instructions on their website. They used to. And yeah, pretty sure it's threaded backwards. It's not a difficult job. Just not usually a necessary job before a 300-500 hours. And I know of 3 that have gone well past that before they needed it.

 Re: Drive shaft bearing removal?
I noticed what sounded like the bearing near the prop making a lot of noise yesterday. Tried to add some grease and none came out of the bleed screw hole. Took the drive off and grease is coming out of the seal at the lower gear. 125 hours btw

Odd, but can happen, I reckon. It's fairly easy to replace that stuff. Just call mb or boat dr in the morning to get the seal cap and whatever else you need.

Hey if nothing else, get it with a pipe wrench or cut it off with a cut off wheel if you had to. Then just replace it.

 Re: Drive shaft bearing removal?
Yeah I may have to. Tried a big pipe wrench with a 3' handle and nothing.

Did you add grease without the bleeder screw off? That'll always pop em for sure. There is a write up on replacing the bearings and seals. Either posted on here or the MB forum
