Has anyone upgraded their PD lower from a gen 2 to a gen 3 or other? And if so do you have the old lower lying around.

I like where you're going with this...

I'll add....does anybody that has ever sheared their Gen II shaft and replaced it in kind still have the sheared shaft/gears laying around they would be willing to part with?

Ha, I had a sheared gen 2 with gear and gen 3 with gear, but they're in a landfill somewhere now...

I have a sheared gen 2 shaft. Have been planning to get a duplicate machined but never have. It's broken right where the threads start. Gears and bearings are fine

Then you could actually do it. have the shaft spec'd and see if you can remove the gear. Put the shaft and gear in the freezer. Then heat up the gear (lightly) with a torch and if its a press fit, it should come free. Could get another shaft built to run different props.

I have a gen 2. skeg is loose, other than that it's perfect. the prop has low hours.

not for sale or trade, btw. I keep it for a backup.

I may have an unbroken shaft that was worn, gear still in tact. Shoot me a text this evening sometime and I'll see if I still have it.

I also have a whole LU, but I think it's a gen1, and it still works, just had the never ending seal issue so not real interested in butchering it.

Ok. I have a close friend who has a machine shop and depending if the gear can be removed, I could have a shaft made to run just about any prop.

Just remind me. I'll send it to you if I have it. Pretty sure it's sitting on my deep freeze in the garage.

I've got a gen 3 that I sheared Saturday. Running in the middle of the canal and all of a sudden, the motor hit the rev limiter and I caught a split second view of the prop and shaft before it sunk.
