Post subject:  Another prop test...

Tested three different props today...

Boat
Prodigy 1860 elite
24" sides
Hunt deck
8" cat walks
Blind
37 efi gator tail
Barracuda 5

Load
Dog ~85lbs
Me ~275
Cooler+Misc ~150lbs

All speeds were done with speed tracker on my phone

I rarely push the motor to these RPM's but I wanted to see what these props would do.

Today's testing - Deep water light chop

10P Stock three blade
29.4 - 30.4 4600 RPM
Reverse is OK at best

GTR 2 Blade new, worked by Baggy
29.6 - 30.3 4375 RPM
Reverse is much improved
Had a strange harmonic when cruising at ~ 3400 RPM

11P 3 Blade one season old just reworked by Baggy
32.1 - 32.4 MPH 4700+ still pulling when it hit the limiter
Reverse is about the same as the two blade, but I think the two blade is better.
Very smooth no harmonics at any RPM

These test were done last year with about the same load:
Before Barracude modification - deep water

10P Stock three blade
25.5 - 26.5 mph 4150 to 4350 rpm
Touched 26.9 once

After modification - deep water

10P Stock three blade
29.5 - 30.2 4400+ rpm

Conclusion, Baggy does great work! He did both props in less than a week and his work looks and performs great. The stock three blade didn't have much wear but one of the blades took a small hit and was slightly misaligned, after he was finished it looked brand new. This was the first time I had sent him any work, I will be a repeat customer.

What's the diameter between the 10" and 11" pitch 3 blades?

The 11" would have to be smaller diameter to turn more RPM's....just my thoughts.

Not necessarily, blue. How the pitch is done, amount of cup, amount of rake, how that spot near the hub is done, etc. Lots of factors. May very well be same diameter.

The 10P prop measures 11 1/2" and the 11P reworked prop measures 11". I did not measure the 11P prop prior to sending it out.
