So it's almost time for a new prop. My BPS big blade is wearing. I'm thinking about trying out a delta performance 3 blade. How are they compared to the BB? I can spin a hammer but I want a little more speed. |

You lose speed with a Hammer? Please don't tell my GTR that, I gained 3-5 mph over the BB depending on load. It did change the hole shot slightly. |

MOST people lose speed with a hammer but gain holeshot and load carrying ability. |

If you turn a 12x10 @ 4400rpm speed is X turn a 12.75x11 @4400rpm speed is X+ Now when you get into 3 blade vs 2 blade of same pitch and diameter at same rpm the 3 blade will give more speed due to less "slip" than the 2 blade. If it were me for mud -hammer or BB. But the way to figure it out if possible, test all 3 with a "normal" load observe your rpm vs speed and then pull the trigger. I have 3 props I run, a Hammer, GT 12x10, and a 3 blade 12.25x9. Also a broken BB, that is the only one I have ever broken. Those BB do not like stumps and logs. |
