i have a 35 hp mudbuddy vangaurd hd sport ,im having a problem , i had to replace my voltage regulator last summer , i only have the night time nav lights and the motor ran off of my brand new battery ,well i also night fish and at the end of the night the battery was dead . it started the motor up but by the time i got back to the ramp i could tell by the nav lights that the battery was low so after i got the boat on the trailer i shut it off and tried to start it back up and it wouldnt even click now with the battery charger hooked to the boat it will start fine but the system wont go above twelve volts the regukator is not charging again so what would cause this concern could my clutch be drawing down the battery ??????? |

Hard to troubleshoot through all that jibberish & speculation. with a volt meter check... 1. battery voltage 2. battery voltage with motor running at idle 3. battery voltage with motor running at full rpms Then come tell us what you find. |

Motors were only designed to run at 3600 rpms. When running at 3800 plus the regulator could be charging to hot which could burn up the stator. Put a 25amp fuse on your regulator so the fuse blows rather than the stator. |

had the same problem with my MB. it was a loose wire at the alternator i think. i will find out exactly for you. |
