Had a good time out there. Nice to meet new people. Think we ended up with around 10 boats in all. Not bad for 2 weeks notice.

I also had 5 in my boat vs your 2. Ok so 2 of them were kids. I was still carrying 300+ more pounds than you.

Hal said he wants to go back there with his boat so we might be out there again soon.

Had a good time to. I was in the 35 long tail. Had to leave early cause I was low on fuel. As much as it kills me to say this cause I've been a longtail guy for so long. Those surface drives are BA. Made the decision yesterday, getting a 12 copperhead this summer.

Good pictures.

I went across that same spot y'all got stuck on myself. It was after you left I went looking for everybody after I took my brother back to the ramp. I was ahead of Lee and made it almost to the end but it was soft enough I dug out with the motor.

Lol, I didn't mean nothing, just saying I damn near got stuck myself trying to go back there, just funny a picture got here about the same exact spot. Once I got through it and came back, I was wide open and skipped right across it, thank gator glide for that.

Me and bug stayed out there til dark running around...

That gata-glide makes all the difference in the world! Not only can I go just about anywhere, but my trailer's gonna last forever because it never even has to get in the water. not too bad for a last minute get together. May have to do one of these in Bama soon if we got enough members around here. Great pictures.

Does gator glide add a bunch of weight? I've been deciding if I should put a slick bottom on. Gator glide or frog spit. But just not sure if it's worth me sliding that much more sideways!!!!

Post subject:  Re: South Georgia/North Florida run photos

It can't add more than 10 pounds total. This is the only one I've tried so I can't speak for the rest but this stuff is super slick. Especially on vegetation like we got around here.

Like cootslayer said, there's been a heap of times my trailer axle don't go under water and I just push the boat off. Just make sure your winch will reach the end to pull it back up.

I will definitely recoat when the time comes. It's like Teflon on a cooking pan when it cures.

That's a joke Hastings. It only adds as much weight as the product itself.

It would be easy to prep the bottom of your boat since it's never been coated. Just need to buff it with probably 220 grit paper. Then wipe down with Acetone. Then use a 6 inch roller and apply 4 thin coats to the bottom. Would probably take 4-6 hours to complete, cost about $150, and could add between 1-2mph, depending on the condition of the bottom of your hull.

I gained a solid 1.5 mph when I got the old SteelFlex off and the Gator Glide on.

bbb if you gained a solid 1.5 mph from the gator glide then you must be topping out at a solid 11.5 mph. May even hit 12 with just you in the boat! :D

Enjoyed meeting everyone. Look forward to doing it again.

^^^ hahaha. Well I hope it wouldn't add that much weight. But do you think sliding when I turn it will get worse?

Post subject:  Re: South Georgia/North Florida run photos

I don't think it'll affect sliding too much one way or the other. It's been my experience that has more to do with how you drive. I never ran my boat without it, so I can't really tell you how much better it performs, but when I ride side by side with other boats that don't have it, it seems to me like it makes a world of difference. Even little stuff like pulling up on the bank to take a little time out is much easier. I can't help but slide way up the bank, but pushing back off takes less effort than a boat next to me that may only have half as much boat on land.
