I've been contacted by a few MM enthusiasts in the area and I'm arranging a ride for JULY 2013.

Will be a sort of 'Poker Run' get together with a BBQ and a fun meet

Location will be St Lawrence River in Gananoque On - it will be open to all motors - but there will be a mud motor specific area of the route. .

I will be the point of contact - this is simply a shout out to see how many guys/gals would be interested in going.

For more info - contact me via PM

I have 9 interested mud boats so far.

Have another guy with a mud rig says he will try and make it. This should be fun.

I ate at a restaurant in Hull called Le Pied de Cochon. It was damn good. We were in the area meeting with Canadian officials to finalize intergovernmental agreements regarding Le Congres Mondial des Acadians. This would have been in the mid 80's I guess. Beautiful cities Hull and Ottawa.

update - 13 July 13 looks to be the date.

There is a fishing tournament on the 6th so the 13th seems to be the better day.

I was up in the st Thomas, London area last year in july..... what great weather!!! I've got family in buffalo and always go to canada to play some disc golf. Toronto island has a badass course. I've never been further north than toronto though. Id hate to live up there during the winter.... I like wearing shorts and a tshirt on christmas and would hate to have to shovel snow..... hell our precipitation runs off, no snow  the run sounds like fun. Too bad we wont be in ny this year or id try to make the run.

sent by carrier pigeon...don't shoot it!!!!

Is there even any water up there in the St Lawrence? I didnt hunt Ontario last season because the water level was sooo low. Couldn't go anywhere in the inland marshes.

Post subject:  Re: Call to Canadians in the SE Ontario region

We will recce it but yes there are lots of places to boat where we are going.
Its shallow in a lot of spots but thats for the mud motor guys to play in following the bbq

Post subject:  Re: Call to Canadians in the SE Ontario region

The St Lawrence has a lot of deep water spots in close proximity to shallows, so even though the water is down, there's still spots to run. Besides, those shallow bays are great to run... ...so long as you don't stop!

This is the BBQ/eating location. Drive the boat to the beach and up to the parking level for a potluck lunch.

Here is a list of accommodations and touristy stuff in Gananoque. There are a few camp sites around I'll have to google them for you...

Post subject:  Re: Call to Canadians in the SE Ontario region

Thanks to Dead Ringer - we have a route planned. Give me your thoughts and opinions and any ideas to make this better.

The poker run portion (yellow) will start at #1 (Misty Isles) and go all the way to #7 (Gray's Beach). It's about 9.5 miles. Then we'll have the potluck cookout and hang out for a bit. After lunch, there's two different runs. Mudmotors will head back to the marina via the red route. Outboards will head back via the green route or go fish or whatever they'd like to do. Unfortunately, the spot between the islands and shore is pretty shallow, so the outboards will have to head out and around.

Please give your feedback!

A few other notes:

1) We will be running this route ahead of time closer to the date to make sure that it is outboard friendly. If not, we'll move some of the card stations.

2) If it wasn't clear, we'll be doing 7 cards (1 per station). Best 5 card hand wins.

3) There may be a few other surprises mixed in there, to be revealed the day of the event

4) I believe that I am going to be able to reproduce this map onto some digital charts. I think I cracked enough software to make it work. I will print enough copies for everyone. I can also e-mail the final waypoints to anyone running garmin GPS when we get closer.

Launch from Misty Isles: ~ 14 miles round trip

Launch from Gananoque: ~25 miles round trip....

Buzz, where are you from. My dad is from the Meaford area. I've spent a lot of time up that way. Still have family in Meaford and Thornburry.
