Jackson's a pretty safe ride. Nothing real spectacular but you can run as shallow as you want out there. Iamonia is pretty deep now so a lot of lily pad riding, but there are 40+ islands and some neat areas off the lake. I think we all need a Jackson ride to get out feet back under us and boost our confidence. No airboat trails to slide on and no channel markers to run into. |

There are actually some really good airboat trails to run right now on Jackson. When you come out of 27 go right like you're going to crowder and there are some good shallow trails. Just a little to shallow to stay on plain in my 35 longtail. Should be perfect for y'all. Except as you come up on crowder, go left not right when the trails Y.... I learned the hard way |

Anybody that knows the guys from other sites, let them know we're hitting Jackson on the 24th. It's going to be bring your own food, drinks, etc.. unless yall start volunteering to chip in so we can cook lunch. |

If the water stays the level that its at, I'm sure most of our time would be spent in the Cattle Gap. There are some floating islands that would sure be fun to run through. The shoreline back there is littered with 1-2" grass, so who really knows where the water ends. Would be fun to find out. As for food, we could order pizza from Pizza Hut(3 miles up the road) and have them deliver to the ramp. Or my BIL works with ChickFila, and if we place a big enough order, they will bring it to the ramp. How about Sunset landing. Is there just a bar there now or do they serve food too? |

Haven't been to Sunset in a year or so, I'll swing by and check it out between now and then. The cattle cap would be fun and last time it was up as high as it is now the Meggenis Arm was nothing but mud and decayed vegetation. Wonder if you can get back there now... Somebody will get stuck on Jackson from running up on the hill somewhere. |

I'll bring enough rope to get pulled out. I'm gona find the shore line in the gap. I don't think the water is high enough to get into lake car but it might be. It's hard to tell with the grass. |
