Me, 3CK & TXKingfisher are gonna go play around on the creek. Plan is to run for a few hours close to dark. Just wanted to extend the invite...

Weather looks great and being Monday the water shouldn't have many people on it.

You could get to that ramp from Austin in less than 4 hrs!

Maybe minus traffic. I'm in cypress area. No way I'm fighting that traffic at rush hour

I gotta finish up the mount for the tach and wire it in.
Machine the nylon end piece for my new trim.
Build a bracket for the trim switch and new kill switch.
Put the new prop on.
Play with the throttle cable. (New cable and handle on the way but wont be here by then)

I need yall to help me resist the temptation of going into the mud. Trying to save that new prop for SETX.

Youll be fine, that's a bigger list than I have.

My list: flip boat, winch on trailer, muscle motor on, reinstall battery, hook up black and red wires, hook up gas.

My list for Monday : wake up, put a good dip in , crack a cold one, hit the creek.

I'm staying over in Hitchcock and looking for a good place to ride, but Sunday is the only day I have off. I've noticed mud on Clear creek from hwy 3 and trying to find a ramp to get to it. Of any if you locals want to ride on a Sunday afternoon let me know!

There two boat launches on the actual creek, one under 270 and there's one in Walter Hall park off hwy 3. The one at 270 is a large nice launch, the one at the park is a single lane launch, its nice but I avoid it like the plague unless its and off day in the winter months. The first video I posted was filmed a couple hundred feet from the Walter Hall launch. Word of caution, be very careful running into some of those shallow coves, there can be all kinds of debris.

I am only able to ride Monday, but if your gonna be in the area we'll have to get together and ride west bay, or old/lost river, wallisville. I personally only ride the creek when I need to cure the itch and don't have alot of time to drive some where.

Pierce marsh might be better for you Josh. I think there's less sand over there. Launch at the diversionary canal, go to the mouth, turn left.

If I get my boat done by tomorrow afternoon I might be down to ride Pierce or Greens with ya. I'd be slower than christmas though 'cause I'd be running my old prop with no cup left.

^-- The area he is talking about is one of my favorite close areas to ride. Though pierce marsh has some of the hardest mud I've ever dealt with. Greens is a lot of fun.

around the mouth of the diversionary canal is decent in the summer.
Greens can be really hot when the time is right. I just don't know when that is exactly. Usually in the spring and summer you can cruise around greens, the cuts between west bay and the intercoastal, and the reefs in west bay and do pretty well.

I'm thinking about bringing both my props now.
The old one so I can see how well my new trim digs. The new one to see how it runs in deep water.

We're loaded and ready to ride.

Side note that motor is no joke putting on with one other person.

Stud broke off my starter solenoid so I'll be pull starting tomorrow. It's really great since the motor shuts off repeatedly for no apparent reason.......

Kohlers are junk. Don't EVER buy one.

That sucks! Could you sider it on?

I'm pumped to get out on the water and run the boat. Between working too much and having the boat dismantled for the GG treatment I need some Creek therapy!

We still on for this afternoon?

Watching the damn rain % right now.
Found a few patches of decent mud Saturday around 2pm. Tide was already low this morning on my way into work, with this wind it should stay low i would hope.

Today was the best my rig has ever performed! All the mods worked as planned, and beating my old prop with an 8lb sledge hammer made it perform as good as new! The new prop ran well but I didn't want to thrash it before SETX so I put the old one back on and it went from about 15mph last time to well over 20 again.

Also running back to the boat ramp after dark my engine was spitting about 8" of blue flame out the exhaust. That's a first for my rig and definitely looked badass!

Tad, good luck getting your fuel line repaired!

Post subject:  Re: Clear Creek 2-10

Big shout out to Chris and James on helping me get back to the dock. Stand up guys for sure!

I found the first weakness of the 25GTR.... 20mph + sideways + low trees= three way before the fluel filter busted.

Im still not educated enough to get go pro videos off the mac to youtube, but man did I have a blast. My boat surpassed all expectations. It will still take some time to get used to the GG. I had a good warm up for SETX. Come on Saturday!

Yea I'm impressed, I want some more tiller time with it before I make any kind of review, but it is defiantly slick. I was a pro a launching alone but with GG that went out the door. I'm having to re-think my strategy.
