 Phowler Extreme 1856 - 36PD
I'm running a Phowler Extreme 1856 with a 36PD for a couple months now and really like the rig so far. I went with the rear drivers pod and ran all my electrical and have my battery in there. Front storage and a 5' removable gun box. The Sears turf is holding up well so far, only a few minor scuff marks on the front deck from the dog launching off to fetch birds. Deep water speeds with essentially a bare hull (me, dog, gun box, 6 gallons fuel, battery) ranged from 26.5-29, average speed was 27-28. Hunting load (approx. 1000 lbs) in shallow water she still runs 20 mph all day at 3800 rpms so I can squeeze a little more out of it. I've got about 8 hours on the motor now and want to do heads, efi, and gut the exhaust over the winter, or might just sell the '12 motor I have on it now and get a Gen 3. Blind is a Poker design, I had the grass mats laying around so I'll use them for a couple years and then switch to raffia once they start falling apart. Gatorbase and G2 on the bottom.

Last one. I still need to fab up a folding dog ladder for the front deck, another off season project

 Re: Phowler Extreme 1856 - 36PD
Good looking rig man. Got a friend that just got the extreme sneak boat, loves it. I built a blind like that last summer, works great, had some problems with the Bimini parts stripping out and not holding because of how heavy the grass mats where once they got wet. I drilled and put stainless screws through them, problem solved.

 Re: Phowler Extreme 1856 - 36PD
Congrats on the boat. I have the same rig set up the same way and love it. Only thing I would change is I had my drivers pod welded in place and wish I would have went with a half box like you did. Also I made the mistake of not putting in a second drain hole in but thats getting fixed this winter along with adding spud poles. Speeds are about the same with mine. Also pland on adding the "sears" turf.

 Re: Phowler Extreme 1856 - 36PD
Does your '12 PD have the 4350 rev limiter/coils or the 4700?

 Re: Phowler Extreme 1856 - 36PD
I've got the 4350 coils, wish I would've waited until later in the year to get my motor so I had the 4700 coils. I originally was going to go with just the movable seat bases but didn't like the thought of having to hide all my wiring and panel in the rear corner. Going with the pod I was able to throw the battery and everything else in there so the floor is wide open. The driver pod is secured to the cross brace with a couple of self tappers so I could remove it if I had to. I used the Styx River Shadowgrass stencil, it turned out really good and took 3 of us 6 hours to paint. I've been a busy guy at the launch lately with people coming up and checking it out, the marshes/lakes I hunt people typically run smaller jons or skiffs with longtails, they can't believe I can go places they can with their 12' skiff and a push pole

Real nice job finishing out your new rig, it looks great. Glad you are pleased with the boat, I really like the personal touches you did yourself.

 Re: Phowler Extreme 1856 - 36PD
I'm kicking around the idea of throwing a couple duallys or d2's on there yet I thought maybe you were gonna put it in the pickers when I met you at that pinch point on the main ditch the other day
