Re: 18x54 swc and MUDBUDDY SPORTV 44
This is what I see in Mudbuddy's future.
I think they will develop the H motor the way they should have developed the V motor. They are holding off sending any out seems like because they keep testing it. I hope they get a good motor out of it, because the theory is good. Of course, it is theory at this point.
But I think the V will go away and be discontinued after the H comes out--if it comes out. I think MB has to develop the H though, if they do not, they will only have the sport models and no one wants a motor anymore without reverse. And I think they will go down big time .

Re: 18x54 swc and MUDBUDDY SPORTV 44
I don't think they will discontinue the hyper sport line completely......why should they? you can still get a GT without reverse if thats what you want. The Hyper sport model is a tested and reliable design.....something the V and H aren't and I think you would lose alot of customer base only offering those 2 styles of motor.
They are not going to make the stock sport V anymore.....you can still order the "44" and now what they call the "50" motors.

Re: 18x54 swc and MUDBUDDY SPORTV 44
I had the strap kit installed so the block where it mounts broke but the handle stayed in place. I didn't say I wasn't upset about the motor but they are sending me a 4500 black death sport. I asked to get out of the sport v and they said no problem. I broke a lower unit at 54 minutes, again At nine hours and now at 16 hours. I explained to them that this motor is not durable enough to with stand what we mud motor guys in the south experience and that I could not trust the motor to the safety of my kids or hunting buddies. I will get you a picture of the two lower units I broke tomorrow. I have one that I broke and the one on the motor. I hadn't sent the other back yet before the current one broke. I will also show you a pic of the tiller handle. I wanted this motor to work but all of you guys that told me not to buy it were 100% right. Also on the question of how long was I down for replacement parts. Well first time was 1.5 weeks. The second was over night. Now I have been down since Thursday but I am on nights so I couldn't use it if I had it.

Re: 18x54 swc and MUDBUDDY SPORTV 44
I don't know what else to do you fucking prick. They will not give me my money back so I have to have a motor. The HD sport will work for me I just liked the reverse. Before the lower unit broke I got 31.5 out of it. You are right I got what I asked for a shitty motor but I also am being taken care of the best they can do which is put me in another motor. I could get a lawyer and Sue but that would take forever and as long as they are making it right why would I want to go through that headache.

Re: 18x54 swc and MUDBUDDY SPORTV 44
I am upset. But what would you do if you were me tell them no I don't want another motor. They are giving me the black death plus what ever else I want to make up the difference in the price. I would say that's a good deal. I really don't mind the HD Sport. I also noticed I very rarely used the reverse. It's a bad situation no matter how you look at it. I just like to duck hunt a lot and need a motor. T

Hell the cast has a 10 year warranty. I don't see how they will ever profit. Those lower units are like outboard lower units. Must be very expensive 10 years is a long time to keep replacing them.

Just get your replacement motor from them and run it til duck season ends, and then sell. Lesson learned.

I have no one to blame but myself. I wanted it to work so bad I went against everything I believe and that's listen to people's advice and experience.

Re: 18x54 swc and MUDBUDDY SPORTV 44
Sorry about your bad luck, man. I think a mutual friend was telling me about your motor this weekend. You live in da Ville? If it wasn't you, there's another person that has gone through 3 LU's that does live there.
I was really hoping the V's and H's would be successful. But, I certainly had my doubts with all the cast components. I've busted up enough outboards to know the cast LU's, mounts and tillers were not going to work well. I have busted all of the above more than once on outboards. Good luck with your progress.

I think they should have given money back too. With what you went through and others, they should call every owner and tell them to stop using them till they get a fix for everything. They should discontinue the motor. The H is supposed to be a totally different engineered set up. They need to develop that motor into the best motor they can, free of all the problems and sell that one. I hope that MB can get their stuff together on their motors before someone or many someone's get seriously hurt. The industry will be better off if there are a half dozen competitors to keep innovating these engines.
