That was my point in asking the weight of the boat I run a stock 36PD on a 20x48 and get 27 with the same weight Something is wrong I would guess he should be getting a good bit more mph out of it. |

The legendcrafts are a lil heavy. A lot of them built with horizontal bracing, not lengthways. They hook pretty bad. May have a wood floor? Waterlogged flotation? We have a 1648 lc that had a hard time floating a 32 pd. I would think the added width would help with that, but could still have a similar issue. If the hull is hooked all to hell, and the ass is dragging like no other, your gonna lose some speed. He did say he just got it together. Maybe he hasn't run it much. Need to play with the trim, possibly props, and weight distribution. Good luck man, and congrats on the new rig. 30 mph is still good speed for a mud boat, so don't let it get you down. I'm guessing you got a few mph hidden somewhere... |

the hull was purchased used, and has some hooks, and the motor is used too, was a smokin deal for the motor. Im new to the mud motor so im trying to figure out the operation completely.. where should i trim it when trolling/slow speeds, and where is the sweet spot during full speed? hoping to get the speeds up..but overall im pleased with the boat... its fun to get back in the shallow water and vegetation! ![]() |

You should beable to run 30MPH with a Stage 3 on a bathtub.. Something defently aint right. Unless you got some really bad Hooks... Uncle J |

You have to play with it, every hull is a lil different. To get the trim right when running wide open, slowly trim it up until you start to lose speed, then trim it back down a tad. Once you get going and up on plane, just bump the trim up and down until you find it. Most of us just set it close to the "sweet spot" as possible and leave it there for idling around and what not. Depending on your load, you may have to move it around a lil bit, but should not take too much. Another thing is, weight distribution is a huge factor. You will have to play with this a lot, but in my boat, it seems to run best with most of the weight directly over the center of the boat. My dad's boat runs a lil better with most of the weight just to the rear of center. I slid a cooler about six inches to the center while running one day and picked up 2 mph. Just have to play with it and use a gps. Once you kinda get a feel for how she runs in each particular situation, you won't need to focus so much on the gps. |

Every boat is a little diffrent. I run mine where it has the least tiller torque. you should not have to trim the motor once you find the sweet spot. run the same trim at idel and WTFO. Only time I mess mith my trim is when I stop in some deep mud and then I trim down to get it moving then trim back up to the sweet spot. Now this will all change with diffrent loads. Try and start by triming the motor level when the boat is sitting still then just bump it up a hair. This is usualy get you close enough. |

I push a 1854mvsld Seaark 30 mph, am thinking about going to the smaller boat for more speed but would like to see some results first I guess. |

get some videos on here with showing the load with how many people in your boat and a gps! That is the best proof out there. |
