Well, decided to trade out my Copperhead 6.5hp and get the 10hp for that extra HP for a loaded down boat. Went out to Copperhead and went test the 10hp before trading. Ran very well. Also got to run Gil's 12hp on his hull. Man that thing is fast. So. Me, Gil, battery and storage box-We hit 18mph and it stayed pretty constant. Went run by myself and it hit 20mph. Had my GPS and Gil's GPS and they were both identicle. Saturday we went hunt Lake Bouef. Loaded down with a 13' pirogue, my son, guns, folding blind, 2 sacks of decoys, small icechest we were able to hit 16mph in deep water. I'd say we had approx 530lbs in the boat and was able to maintain 15.7-16mph. Grass and lillies were no issues. Much more torque and bottom end power. Much more impressed with the 10hp over the 6.5hp with my hull. OAN, got to see the Phowler sneak boat. That thing is built nicely. Can't wait to see what comes next from Copperhead and Phowler. |
