Phowler Prowler 14 -15 and 1636 Performance Reviews
Hey folks, we finally got time to post up the reviews on our Prowler Sneak boats in the 14-16 lenghts.
Most folks have seen the reviews on the 1236 model but to refresh folks:
1236 Base hull 180lbs, with floatation, seat, cover etc 228 lbs.
With 6.5 Copperhead - 1 man 15-17 mph top speed, average 14.7 mph, with two men 14.2 mph top speed, average 12.8-13 mph.
With 12 hp Copperhead 1 man 25.6 mph top speed, average of 23-24 mph, with two men 22.6 mph top speed, average of 19.6-21.5 mph.
1436 Base Hull 225 lbs, with floatation, seats, cover as tested 265 lbs.
12 hp Copperhead - 1 man average speed of 23 mph, two men average speed of 20.1 mph. Three men average speed of 17.6 mph.
10 hp Copperhead - 1 man average speed of 20.2 mph, two men average speed of 18.1 mph, three men 16.4 mph.
1636 base hull 245 lbs, with floatation, seats, cover and options as tested 315 lbs.
12 hp Copperhead - 1 man average speed of 23.2 mph, two men 18.7 mph, three men 18.1 mph.
These are all deep water speeds on the larger boats. Have not tested the 1536, but we figure it will run pretty close to the 1436 and 1636 overall.
As expected the longer boats were a bit slower with light load, but held speeds really well with a heavy load.
These boats are now in full production in all four models, the 12, 14 and 15 foot boats are in stock, 16' are built to order.
I know there will be a few on here calling these number inflated, they are not, these numbers are from multiple test runs with plenty of different folks in the boats to verify the results. We will stand behind these numbers 100% for anyone who buys one of these boats with a Copperhead motor.
We just took a full load of these hulls south last week, so you will start seeing them down south, feel free to talk with the owners, they will verify anything we have posted on our reviews.
Thanks,
PW

Re: Phowler Prowler 14 -15 and 1636 Performance Reviews
Just got back from MS and TN hunting with Cutt Down and had a chance to do some more running with our 1436 and 1636 Prowlers down there (we are completely froze up here).
Conditions in MS:
Flooded cypress cut about a mile long and 250 yrds wide, deepest water was about 3-4 feet, most was 12" or less.
We had to pull the 1436 about a mile into the field and slide it off the trailer into the cut.
Three men it would run right through the timber, we idled around in less then 6" of water. Boat would run up on a knee or log, just work the motor a little and gas it and the boat would slide right over the stuff. No damage to the hull or the 12hp Copperhead. I was impressed. Cutt Down has been running in stuff like this for awhile, but it was my first chance to run one in the Cypress groves.
Conditions in TN: Most of you have seen Cutt Down's video of running in TN, this is the same area we hunted and ran late last week. With three men, dog and gear we ran the open ditch at 16 mph. Friday morning I got to the landing at 6 am, it was 6 degrees!!! The lake was frozen with 3/4" of fresh hard ice. The 1436 ran the lake, breaking ice the whole way great. When Cutt Down came out to meet me at the blind around 9 am in the 1636 the ice was up to 1" and he was breaking my refrozen trail, two men, dog and gear he was able to break ice at 15 mph the whole way. Running back in at 12pm we went a different route back to the landing, I was leading the way in the 1436, broke 1"-1.25" ice on step running around 16-17 mph with Cutt Down following behind in the 1636 with two men/dog and gear.
The Copperheads and the Prowler Boats had no damage/dents or issues from running the ice.
I was impressed to all get out running the ice on Friday. The boats and motors exceeded even my best expectations.
We have some video and pictures we will post up as soon as I get them downloaded from the camera.
