I want something to where I won't loose a bunch of speed but want to be able to run in mud easy |

You wanna stick with a surface drive then, they have the speed of a comparably sized outboard (almost), and they will go through the mud. Your 2 options with reverse are Prodrive and Gator-tail, Mudbuddy makes a nice surface drive too, if you aren't worried about reverse. Go-devil also makes surface drives, they have no reverse or neutral though. All these manufacturers have websites. |

A longer boat is a good spot to start, I have a 14 ft boat and I know my motor isnt running to its full potential with a load. |
